Joe believes music is an integral part of bringing many stories to life, and is available to score your next project! He is also available for composition commissions, guest conducting and directing, and teaching individual and group lessons in music performance, composition, and arranging. Joe Sugrue is a performing musician, composer, and music educator based out of Seattle, WA. Joe grew up in Fairfield, CT, and later received his degree in composition and arranging from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. He then moved to Seattle and received his Masters in Music Education from the University of Washington. For the last six years he has worked as a music teacher and curriculum designer in public, private, and non-profit school settings, most recently teaching in Seattle Public Schools and the Northshore School District in Kenmore, WA. He has worked with students of all ages and skill levels, and has worked as the director of high school jazz bands, wind ensembles, marching bands, and orchestras. He also enjoys running jam sessions and group-composing experiences.
Joe writes music for large and small performing ensembles of various skill levels, solo pieces, and original scores for games, animation, and short films.
